Bali tour

Barong dance

Barong is probably the most well known dance in Bali. It is also another story-telling dance, narrating the fight between good and evil.

The story goes that Rangda, the mother of Erlangga, the King of Bali in the tenth century, was condemned by Erlangga's father because she practiced black magic. After she became a widow, she summoned all the evil spirits in the jungle, the leaks and the demons, to come after Erlangga. A fight occurred, but she and her black magic troops were too strong that Erlangga had to ask for the help of Barong. Barong came with Erlangga's soldiers, and fight ensued. Rangda casted a spell that made Erlangga soldiers all wanted to kill themselves, pointing their poisoned keris into their own stomachs and chests. Barong casted a spell that turned their body resistant to the sharp keris. At the end, Barong won, and Rangda ran away.

I would not call it a dance, as it appears more like a theater. Hardly could hear the voice of the players yet they spoke in Balinese which bored me.
Turtle island/ Serangan Island

Align CenterAn exciting tour was made to the Turtle Island which located in Tanjung Benoa. Turtle island is a small delta fully covered by white sand that ideally for turtle conservation.

"flying fish"

We crossed the beautiful beach of Tanjung Benoa with glass bottom boat from Marine Sports Centre, Nusa Dua.

The boat will stop over in one of the fish spot where we can see the beautiful colorful fish throughout the glass bottom boat.

Stepping on the glass

Time to see the i come!!

Kintamani the volcano mountain

Kintamani is a cool highland with the view of a crater lake died down.

The gushing wind of fresh mountain air hit me with realization that Kintamani could possibly be a piece of heaven on earth. But watch out for the street seller..they would chase after you and aggressively will beg you to purchase their items.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu

Visitors to Uluwatu are provided with a ceremonial yellow sash to wear around their waist (after paying the entrance fee). The proper attire requires that the knees are not to be exposed. Those wearing shorts are required to wear a sarong.

The sash is worn when entering the Uluwatu temple

This is a popular place to enjoy the sunset. Unfortunately, we went there in the afternoon and i miss the opportunity to witness the sunset.

Stone staircase towards the Uluwatu temple

Sea-cliff at Uluwatu

Praise & worship (oopss, should have covered my knees)

Beware of the aggressive monkeys. Caught the well-behaved one.

Here, the video of the Uluwatu temple

Everybody can now fly with airasia!!! ~ me promoting airasia?? hahahaha, so true that, with airasia, we can fly anywhere we want as it offers quite affordable fare at the momment.. When everybody can afford to pay for it, everybody can fly anywhere they want, but not everybody can have the meal displayed in the menu.. FRUSTRATING esp when it's a long journey..

Take note: Do keep chickadees, sweets, chocolates, peanuts, muffin etc in your bag, in a case of emergency and your stomach starts drumming, you'll be safe but eat it secretly...

The Bali island is truly picturesque that photos just don't do it justice. Went there early March this year with my friends Punie & Alfred.

We were welcomed by our tour guide, Bapak Khartika who was wearing skirt, i mean "kain sarong". the Denpasar airport.

Bapak Khartika, cat-walking with my luggage..

Stayed at Matahari Hotel, Kuta (Kota untuk Tetamu Australia)

The room is small but clean. Bedsheets & pillow case(s) are all white~ and it makes me feel like i've been admitted to the hospital...

ever heard of "Ayam Tulang lunak?

You may have it here in "Malioboro" restaurant, Kuta

Lunch was at Ayam Tulang Lunak Malioboro, which is next to Bebek Begil Dirty Duck Diner. As the name implies, the speciality here is their Ayam Tulang Lunak. I have captured the explanation in their menu.

In short, they claim that their chicken bone which is high in calcium and zinc can be consumed. And in fact, I found that it is so crispy that you couldnt tell that you are actually eating a chicken bone.

Ayam tulang lunak for lunch!! the yummy-licious "can eat chic-bones" really fingers licking..

Sun set at Jimbaran bay. Jimbaran is known as the "golden mile" because of its great white sand bay and selection of high end resorts. One of the cool things to do when in Bali is to eat grilled fish on the beach at Jimbaran Bay in the evening. Jimbaran is only 10 mins taxi ride from Kuta.

Grilled fish, crab, prawns, squids and sea shells...

the very yummy-licious seafood platter ever!!

SALE makes everyone crazy... BEWARE!! get your CASH ready!!! Credit card? BEWARE for the bills that you'll received when month end.

Me and IDH were patiently watching the money exchanger assistant calculating the money, shown there on the flash board- the currency exchange seems to be like RM2.30=1SD, NO NO NO- it wasn't that amount that we got, it was RM2.40=1SD. suddenly we felt like so "miskin" (poor) after exchanging the RM to SD.

This is something that i will never do in Malaysia's LRT (taking photo inside the LRT- it's a BIG- NO NO!!)

Me and IDBY, smilling all the way...

Ooopss, someone looks unhappy here..maybe we've annoyed her OR she just being "kiasu"..

Candies?? oh, as sweet as me & IDBY...(ehhehehe...)

First day in Singapore, we just went for window shopping..see see, no paper bag, no plastic bag in our hands even after more than 5 hours walking and torturing our eyes with all the super SALE offers.Standing in the middle of the street to take snapshot of the street lights. Kids, don't attempt this anywhere else. I'm not liable for your safety.

Not to miss the MUST eat food in Singapore!!! "SUP TULANG"~

Having the red glossy "King of Soup "Tulang" (Bone)".. King of cholesterol i would named it.

Night Safari in Singapore turned into a nightmare that night as it was raining! The animal show was canceled. Frustrating!!
