Lady, please buy lady

Street sellers are everywhere in Cambodia. From the age as young as 4 years to an old granny never miss their chance to sell the items on the street.
.
.
and i did came across this when i was in Siem Reap/
not just once/
but couple of times/
.
.
Their fav' spots are at the temples and tourists are their target
.
.
They do nothing bad/ but to sell their items/ and expect dollar in returns

SCENE 1
While me & Teerak were on our way to visit the Angkor Wat temple..We were approached by this one little girl..

A girl: Lady, i have nice postcards lady. You see. 10 postcards lady. (and that's when she counted the postcards one by one) You see lady, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, ten postcards lady.
Me: How much?
A girl: 10 for 1 dollar, lady.
Me: No. No.
A girl: Lady, please buy lady. 10 postcards for 1 dollar lady. cheap lady.
Me: No. No.
A girl: Lady, please buy lady. i have no money to go to school lady. lady....
Me: (No money to go to school? Huhuhu..i feel touched the moment she said that), Hmm..later ok?
A girl: Later lady? Later you come and see me lady, and buy from me lady. My name is Mia. ok lady?

I went off, and never returns..

SCENE 2
@Victory gate//when a little girl who was carrying a basket full with fridge magnets & bangles approached me/ and said:

A girl: Lady, You see lady. I have fridge magnets, lady.
Me: No. No
A girl: Lady, please buy lady. 3 for 1 dollar.

Me: No. No.
A girl: You see lady (that's when she showed me one by one the fridge magnet designs she has) I have Apsara dancer. Angkor Wat. Ta Phrom. 5 for 1 dollar, lady.(She even bargained).
Me: No. No.
A girl: 8 for 1 dollar lady.
Me: No. No

I went off..

BUT..
.
.
she followed me, and kept on begging AND asking me to buy her fridge magnets//
.
.
i ignored her//
.
.
as Teerak looks so Chinese (he's a Chinese anyway)/
and maybe she thought we couldn't understand English/
she then..
speak mandarin..
.
.
mandarin? YES, the Cambodian girl can speak mandarin.

again, i remain silent//
said nothing//

but reached my pocket//
.
.
and that's when she gave me this "dollar looks"

I then..
.
.
gave her a packet of candy/ sweets//
.
.
and that's when she stop bugging me and said: THANK YOU, LADY and happily ran away..
.
.
thank god// she's away!!
.
.
never thought// a packet of candy/sweets could save me from this little street seller..
.
.
P/S: Never go to a place like this without candy/sweets with you..
