Do you ever think of walking on the bottom of the ocean? Imagine walking right on the bottom of the ocean and witness the sea life of all kind without have to get your hair wet. Try sea walker, it's easy . All you need is to put on the diving helmet and the ocean is all yours.

The sea walker station is just 3-5 km from the beach..

It was tremendously hot..

The instructor said " Put your head straight up. Do not bend down cause if you bend, the water will fill the helmet. If that so, put your head straight and the water will go"..i got it..Head straight up!!!

Please pay attention to every single sing language taught by the instructor.

It's time to put on the 5 kg helmet

Remember to put your head straight up..inhale and exhale normally..

That thing on Teerak's shoulder is actually a pad shoulder to support and pad the heavy helmet

Yeay..We're now walking on the bottom of the ocean..

Safety comes first..make sure you hold the "X" thingy holder if you don't to get lost ..
The instructor will somehow guide you where to go.

I was amazed to be surrounded by a school of fishes

Sea walker is a unique diving system. One need to put on the diving helmet and walk around with the "X" iron thingy guided bt the instructor. Able to see the fishes swimming right in front your face. well, there nothing like this in other places but Bali. Why wait? Let's have a try!!

Wonderful Location for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Kuala Lumpur

Was surprised to see our pre-wedding photo featured in the Bridal Guide magazine vol. 16. In this issue, Bridal Guide is going local and brings to you the massive complication of pre-wedding album from every states in Malaysia. Glad to know that, the venue (Taman Tasik Permaisuri, Bandar Sri Permaisuri) we chose for our pre-wedding photoshoot which is located just 3 minutes drives from our home has now became a wonderful location for a pre-wedding photoshoot. I know this location will one day become an attraction to many soon-to-be bride/groom.

1	When people says "Buddy", whats the first thing that comes in your mind? The first thing that comes up in my mind would be “companion”… accompanying you whenever you’re lost or lonely.

5	BC: now for some fun questions, :) You recently attended Borneo Hornbill Festival 2011 (BHF), how was the event? The event was great, I've indirectly involved in the event when I was appointed as a manager to a Kumang Iban named Veeky-Leonora Andria @ Zanoria (Winner for Kumang Iban title BHF 2011). There were beauty pageant as well as dance competition. The BHF beauty pageant is totally different from other beauty pageant competition, as the winner was not just valued based on their looks, but also the authenticity and originality of their costume, which carries the highest mark. Veeky has also made a history, she prooved that to be a Kumang, one does not necessarily need to wear that heavy or colorful accesories. 6	Name us top 5 must-visit places in Sarawak for first time visitor. They must go and experience this great places; Gua Niah, Gua Mulu, Sarawak museum, Fort Margarita, and the Crocodile farm.

Kumang Iban BHF KL 2011 - Veeky-Leonora's note

It's all women dreams to be crowned as a "Beauty Queen".. Veeky-Leonora, who dressed in the original iban lady costume has won the title "KUMANG IBAN BORNEO HORNBILL FESTIVAL KL 2011". She only wore the rawai tinggi (high corset) around her waist. She has made a change, that to be crowned as a Kumang Iban, one does not necessarily has to be pretty, wear colorful; heavier; or full accessories, but one must know what to wear and how to wear em'..

Dear All,

I would like to take this opportunity congratulate and thank Warisan Sarawak and its wonderful crew on their good effort in organising this event The Borneo Hornbill Festival 2011 and was successfully done. This is a perfect platform for us to show the beauty of our Borneo Culture as well as a stepping stone for the younger generation to boost their confidence onstage.

I was very impressed and proud with the performance of this year's Kumang and Keling contestants for all the categories. They indeed did their homework in researching the costumes and performed well during the Q and A session. It takes the gut of steel to even register yourself for this competition as even my knees go weak on stage, but with the brief training and guidance prepared by Warisan Sarawak together with its crew we managed to nail the stage down that very night. Not forgetting the endless encouragement from my new found friends gives each and everyone of us the morale boost to get through this.

I see that some contestants would be trying their luck again for next year....Kudos to you and never give up. However, my word of advise is RESEARCH,RESEARCH and RESEARCH!...be it from books, Mr.GOOGLE, visits to museums and antique shops and even your family and friends. Don't be shy to ask because answers will be revealed if you were to ask (and listen to the advise given too).

It was timely for me to show how Indu Dara Insin Temaga would wear her costume.

As this was my first time joining such pageant, me and my Manager, Susan Leo decided to go all out for this event.

I must also thank Ms. Jacqueline Selaka Mawar, Mr. Gregory Nyanggau, Mr. Vernon Kedit and Ms. Patricia Momyus for advising us on how a true ngepan Indu Iban should be worn. The journey to find Indu Dara Insin Temaga really inspired me to hold as close as I can to originality. Through the research being done, I know my roots even more even if it just communicating with my elderly. So my dear friends, don't be shy to ask people, read more, explore all the possibilities of your culture and you'll be surprised to know once they're revealed.

To all my friends and supporters...Thank you for your endless support especially my dear friend Susan Leo with her sleepless nights, my mum, dad and brother Nielsen-Nikki, my Keling Johnney Slyvester for his encouragement and everyone who believes that I have what it takes to pursue this objective, to show Indu Dara Insin Temaga.. Thank you also for your friendship my new found friends, a great pleasure knowing all of you, please forgive me if I did anything wrong. Hope we can keep in touch...

Borneo Hornbil Festival

The Borneo Hornbill Festival will officially begin on 21.7.2011, for the preliminary round of Ethnic Costume Show; follow by Ethnic Dance Show on the following day. There will be booths set up around the venue and short presentations and workshops scheduled throughout the day. Visitors can choose to browse the exhibition and merchandise booths while waiting for the scheduled presentations.

The exhibition and sales booths are expected to feature attractions like trinkets of handicrafts, exotic fashion accessories and signature Sabah/Sarawak interior decorations and furnishings.We expect to garner a lot of interest in the proposed tattoo exhibits, basket weaving demonstration, bead designs, ´pua kumbu´ weaving, carvings from wood and bamboo, and pottery sale and demonstration.

There will also be stalls serving the signature dishes of Sarawak/Sabah, among others are the ´kolo mee´, laksa Sarawak, kek lapis, umai and fried midin.The cultural performance showcase will be a choreography of dance, musical and vocal performances.

Island of corals - PART II

Snorkeling is the main activity on Redang island and rightly so as the coral reefs are quite spectacular. Many resort packages include snorkeling tour by boat to nearby islands.

However, the snorkeling equipments are not included in the package and you have to rent it.

Island of corals - PART I

Redang Island is well known for its corals and turtles.

And my destination this time would be

REDANG ISLAND click here

Me and Teerak took a bus (double decker Transnational bus) from the PWTC Kuala Lumpur bus terminal to Kuala Terengganu. It took us 7 hours to be on road until we reached our destination to the Kuala Terengganu bus terminal.

I slept like a dead fish during the whole journey. Thank God I've got myself a comfy air pillow which i bought at DAISO for just RM5.00. The bus only stop once. Just imagine, for 7 hours journey, you got only 1 chance to go to washroom/toilet? The only nightmare one would face when travel by bus.

We finally reached Kuala Terengganu after 7 hours journey on road (9pm-4am). On our arrival, we were greeted by the tour agent's driver "Ping Anchorage Tour & Travel Sdn Bhd" (he was 1 1/2 hours late), he then drove us to the Ping Anchorage Inn, where we spent a few hours relaxing and resting before we went to take the boat at Merang Jetty at 9am.

At 9am, the driver drove us to the Merang jetty. While waiting for our boat to arrive, we wandering around and window shopping for the souvenirs.

Should't have brought so many things with me..my back is aching & painful..A lesson to learn, never ever stuff too many things into the bag when you go for backpacker !!! Now i look more like a leather-back sea turtle.

For those who travel with their own vehicles, do not worry about the parking. There are parking shelters available for rent.

Each chalet has it's own boat...

The weather was a bit cloudy and windy..

rain has came to conquer the island.. We were all wet. A lesson to learn, always bring plastic bag to wrap your bag/ electronic gadgets and a rain coat to save you from being wet..

it was still raining when we arrived at the island..luckily i got myself an umbrella..

The Fishing Spot

Let me introduce to you

the Fishing spot in Miri, Sarawak

Many would come here for fishing

Some even comes with family

while the hubby goes for fishing the wife and the kids go for picnic

the South China Sea from this view

and the city from this view

the canal functions as a route for the ship

Dad told me, that area over there was once a Miri General Hospital, but it has now developed into a luxury resort

Though this place is nothing to shout about but the view is such a breath taking..

Lambir Hill National Park

Let me introduce you to the Lambir Hill National Park.

The longest wooden bridge i ever saw

We walked deep inside the jungle

and walked down the hill

and walked again

and again

until we found this suspension bridge

watch out!! walk slowly when you're on the bridge..if not the bridge will be moving and you'll be out of balance..

What's the name of the waterfall?
hmm.. no signboard found..
i would name it "Narak Waterfall"!!! hahaha.. (this isn't the famous waterfall in Lambir anyway..) We still haven't reached there..

We walked further up..and found this green plants grow on the stone

There are two waterfalls at Lambir Hill National Park.
But we only went to the Latak Waterfall as it is the nearest waterfall..

On our way to Latak waterfall, i was amazed to see the river. The water is super amazing beautiful!!

Looks like I'm posing in front of a wall paper, but I'm not, this is real one..

Yes!! We have finally reached the so called "Latak Waterfall"

Latak? what that supposed to mean?

To my understanding, in Iban language, Latak means "mud"..

Mud? is there any mud?

There's aren't any big stones surrounding the waterfall..

and YES!!.the waterfall pool is quite muddy and sandy..
that's where this waterfall gets its name..
the "Muddy Waterfall" or better called as "Latak Waterfall".

The waterfall isn't that big. It looks more like falling water from the water tap.

and yes, it does look like water fountain as well..

yee..haa...I'm flying!!!

i would advise you, keep on dreaming.
this place is not suitable for bikini, cause you might not want to catch flu and attract those unwanted creatures (you name it- insects, reptiles?? more to mammal i would say)..

Niah National Park is 1 hour drive from Miri city.

The park's main claim to fame is its role as one of the birthplaces of civilisation in the region. The oldest modern human remains discovered in Southeast Asia were found at Niah, making the park one of the most important archaeological sites in the world.

The Park Office

Accommodation facilities consist of chalet units, rest house and hotel-style rooms

The park has two-marked walking trails, Jalan Bukit Kasut and Jalan Madu.

Jalan Bukit Kasut: This trail (green and white markings) leads to the summit of Bukit Kasut. The 45 minutes walk passes through beautiful primary rain forest before moving into Kerangas forest at the foot of the hill. You will also see some fascinating cliff vegetation clinging tenuously to life in the steep limestone slopes. The trail is a little steep but the view at the top is worth it, offering a sweeping panorama of the rain forest canopy.

Jalan Madu: This trail (brown and white markings) sticks quite close to the banks of the Sungai Subis, a tributary of the Sungai Niah. It takes roughly an hour and passes through both alluvial and peat swamp forest. There are plenty of wild orchids, bizarre mushrooms and giant pandanus plants along the side of the trail.

Breezy morning made me smile, while mommy being serious..

My 2 years old brother (Dariel) looks worried as Daddy told him that there's a big monster waiting for him in the cave.

The boat ride only took us 5 minutes to reach its destination

The stroll along the plank walk is fascinating as you will pass close to the giant Tapang trees (Koompassia excelsa (Becc) Taub.) with their enormous buttressed roots.

Well maintained plank wood made my life easier to reach the cave and the chance for you to get lost in the deep forest is 0.01%.

Sun shine in the deep forest is really a breath taking and relaxing

Local called this "Paku Kerok". It is no where to be found but Sarawak.

How i wish i can take Dariel's place and save my foot from being tortured for the 3 hours walk.

Not that Daddy is carrying me but me is carrying little Dariel!!! This is not what I'm asking for!!!!! grrrr...

It is worth taking your time and walking quietly along the way

The souvenir stalls that welcomed us before we reached the Trader's cave

That's the cave!!! We are almost there..

The first significant rock formation we reached is the Trader's Cave

which is really an extended rock overhang rather than a cave proper

This is where the birds nest and guano traders conduct their business, hence the name.

A few minutes later, the West Mouth of the Great Cave comes into view and i left in no doubt that this cave deserves its name.

We finally made it!!

Thumb up!!

At over 60m high and 250m wide, it is one of the world's most spectacular cave entrance leading to an even larger chamber within.

Exhausted me.

This is just a start..more to go after this..

unique and the jagged stalactites, overhang and dangling creepers of the cave mouth make a dramatic frame for a very memorable photo.

A girl: Lady, i have nice postcards lady. You see. 10 postcards lady. (and that's when she counted the postcards one by one) You see lady, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, ten postcards lady.
Me: How much?
A girl: 10 for 1 dollar, lady.
Me: No. No.
A girl: Lady, please buy lady. 10 postcards for 1 dollar lady. cheap lady.

Apsara dance is one of the most popular classical dance in Cambodia.

Dance has been part of Khmer culture.

The graceful movements of the Apsara dancers, adorned with gold headdresses and silken tunics and skirts, are carved on the walls of many of the temples at Angkor.

Many of the dances involve performing a fragment of the Ramayana, the ancient Indian epic that is one and a half times as long as the Odyssey.

OF COURSE!

Im not going home alone this time, but Teerak is coming with me.
It's more like, introducing him to my cultures, my place and my family.

Our destination is Miri, Sarawak.

Miri is a city of northern Sarawak, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo. It is the second largest city in Sarawak. The first oil well was drilled by Shell in 1910 (the Grand Old Lady), and is now a state monument and one of Miri’s tourist attractions.

We took Malaysian Airline System (M.A.S) and flew to Miri early in the morning.

The bright sky make me feel like in heaven, though i've never been to heaven before...

The journey to Miri took about 2 hours, i slept along the journey and only woke up when the breakfast was served.

the moment the Captain announced that plane soon going to touch down, i looked outside my window and was amazed with what i saw... i was amazed to see the beach...

After goggling here and there (where to go- for the hot springs) , We finally made it to Sungkai.

After an hour journey on the straight highway which made me half asleep, we were then welcomed by this "kampung road"..

We took a bus from the KL Sentral. You may purchase the ticket at the "Genting counter" at level 2, KL Sentral

Spooky white spots - Cambodia PART V

Spooky white spots found at the Noon-Night Market, Siem Reap Cambodia. What are those? I was told by a friend that those may be caused by exposures of lights or/and dust.. How true is that? Cause i have the thought that those white spots are "spirits".

I was having goose-bum the moment i saw those white spots appeared on my digi-cam.

It can't be caused by exposures of lights, or dust, or rain, or.... They must be "spirits"..

Again, the same thing happened at Sarawak rain forest. This photo was taken during my visit to Niah cave, Miri Sarawak. The spooky white spots appear. No lights, No dust, No rain... when this photo was taken. They must be "spirits"....

This photo was taken inside the Niah cave, Miri Sarawak... At first i thought my digi-cam's lens was dirty (covered with dust), and i wiped it off and captured another photo but the same thing happened...the white spots still appear....

Eerie isn't it?

Until now, i still don't know..whether those white spots are really "spirits" or just caused by exposures of lights/ dust/ rain etc .....

Tonle Sap Lake

Tonle Sap lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. We took a boat to to see the culture and the wildlife of the lake area.

If you want a relatively quick and easy look at the Tonle Sap, boat tour of Chong Khneas are available, departing from the Chong Khneas boat docks all day long.

Tomb Raider - Cambodia PART IV

Ta Prhom temple

According to Mr Bun (our guide), after Thai captured Angkor in the 15th century, the Cambodians retreated south. Angkor lay abandoned until the French 'rediscovered' it in the 19th century. By this time, the jungle had infiltrated many of Angkor's temples with enormous trees that can still be seen today.

Ta Prhom temple is currently restored by the Indian government. Nevertheless, much work has been done to stabilize the ruins, to permit access, and to maintain its structure.

The temple of Ta Prohm was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider- Lara Croft.

The photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors.

The trees spread their gigantic roots over the temple . To me, it looks like the temple has been swallowed by a huge octopus.

This is what i call "Roots of Loves". We're indeed in love!

The dense jungle within the temple of Ta Prhom is eerie and romantic all at once.

The shy Apsara dancer smiles while hiding behind the twisted roots.

The unique features of the tree intertwined into the temple are quite symbolic and this make Ta Prhom my favourite temple to visit in Siem Reap. I love nature and that explains why I love Ta Phrom. PEACE

Bayon Temple

How does it feel to have your face carved on the stone?
Feel famous? Feel wanted?

Ever wonder, Bayon face towers depict the face of whom?

Bayon Temple was built around 1190 AD by Khmer King Jayavarman VII. It's a Buddhist temple with elements of Hindu cosmology.

The smiling image is thought by many to be a portrait of Khmer King Jayavarman VII himself.

There are 51 smaller towers surrounding Bayon, each with four faces of its own. Four faces, looking toward the cardinal directions, are carved on the sides of fifty-four standing towers at Bayon Temple.

Such serenely smiling faces are carved on stone towers throughout the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom, literally meaning the “Great City.”

On reaching Bayon, I can assure that you will be amazed by the huge structures that resemble faces.

There is still much mystery associated with the Bayon, its exact function and symbolism, and this seems only appropriate for a monument whose signature is an enigmatically smiling face.
